Deputy Payne SRO

Deputy Payne SRO

My name is Deputy Cedric Payne. I have been a resident of Bossier Parish for 20 years. I started my career with the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office December 20, 2001. I have served with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office for 16 years--12 years as a patrol deputy, 2 years as a corrections officer, and 2 years as a School Resource Officer at Princeton Elementary. I am a D.A.R.E. instructor for Kindergarten thru 5th grade. My goal at Haughton Elementary is to make it a safe learning environment for staff and students.

I obtained my POST Certification at the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Training Academy in December of 2002. I received yearly training including Firearms Training, Criminal Law Update, Group Crisis Intervention, Active Shooter Rapid Response Training, CPR Re-certification/Trauma First Aid/ Officer Down Training, and Basic SWAT Course Training. I also attend Annual Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Association Training and School Resource Officer Training.

My wife Spring and I are parents to three children, Jalyn, Nyla, and Kyonz. Kyonz has three kids of his own. I am an ordained minister, and as many of you know, I love to dance and have fun. I became a School Resource Officer to effect a positive change in the life of our youth. I love the Lord and believe that we should share that same love with one another to help our children grow. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Bossier Parish school system.
